Why is LED lighting so popular?

LED, or light emitting diode, is a much more cost effective source of light than led fluorescent, halogen, or incandescent bulbs. They use considerably less energy and produce a fraction of the heat.

What is the expected lifespan of the LEDs?

Koncept's LEDs have a rated lifespan of 60,000 hours until it reaches 90% brightness.
Under normal use, LED lights will not burn out suddenly like regular bulbs or fluorescents. Rather, they will slowly begin to dim over time. Because of this, LEDs are generally considered to be at the end of their "useful" life when they reach 70% brightness.
LED lifetime largely depends on operating environment. For best results, we recommend an ambient temperature of 77 degrees Fahrenheit or lower.

What are the dimensions of the lamps?

Dimensions of all of the lamps are available on their spec sheets. Download their spec sheets in the Downloads section below.

What is the difference between the warm white and cool white light colors? What do they look like?

Warm white light has a color temperature of around 3500K. This color would closely match the light color of an incandescent light bulb.
Cool white has a color temperature of around 4500K. This color would closely match the light color of fluorescent light
Customers tell us that people prefer the cool in an office environment to keep them stay alert, and the warm at home to feel more comfortable. It is mainly a personal preference.

Are the lamps dimmable?

All plug-in models have a built-in dimmer. They are either equipped with a "touch and hold" dimmer or a touchstrip dimmer that allows the user to slide their finger down the strip for multi-level dimming.

Hardwire models are compatible with standard ELV dimmers. To view a list of compatible dimmers, visit koncept.com/dimmers.

How do you describe the color finishes?

SILVER – A Silver paint that has a satin finish (RAL 9006 Semi-Matt, Pantone# 10102 C)*
METALLIC BLACK – A Metallic Black paint that has a satin finish (RAL 9017 Semi-Matt, Pantone# 10399 C)*
BLACK – A Black paint that has a gloss finish (RAL 9005 Gloss: Jet Black)*
WHITE – A White paint that has a gloss finish (RAL 9010 Gloss: Pure White)*
ORANGE – An Orange paint that has a gloss finish (RAL 2004: Luminous Orange, Pantone# 021C)*
RED – A Red paint that has a gloss finish (RAL 3002: Luminous Red, Pantone# 1797C)*
GREEN – A Green paint that has a gloss finish (RAL 6018: Luminous Green, Pantone# 375C)*
PURPLE – A Purple paint that has a gloss finish (RAL 4005: Red lilac, Pantone# 266C)*

Are your lamps full spectrum?

Full spectrum describes a light source that contains all frequencies (i.e. colors) of light, which is also when the CRI of the lights reaches 100%. CRI for most of our models is 90% and can be considered "close to full spectrum".

Could you tell me more about your Wireless Charging Base? Is my phone compatible?

Koncept wireless charging base uses a wireless charging technology called Qi (pronounced "chee"). Any Qi-compliant devices will work with the wireless charging base. To charge your device, simply place it onto the wireless charging base and it will start charging, wirelessly! The wireless charging base is currently offered as a mounting option for Z-Bar, Mosso Pro and Splitty desk lamps, available in Silver, White (9" only), and Metallic Black finish.

To utilize the Koncept wireless charging base, your phone has to be Qi compliant. You may check if your phone is a Qi-compliant device from the following website:

Please always check with the original phone manufacturers for Qi compatibility. Some of the phones on the market are Qi-ready but require additional accessories from the original phone manufacturer to enable its Qi functionality.

If your phone is not Qi-compliant, you will need to attach a Qi-enabled sleeve or dongle to your phone to use the wireless charging base. While Koncept does not supply Qi sleeves/dongles, they are available for purchase on the market.

WARRANTY

What is the warranty on my lamp?

Warranty policies may be different in different regions. Please consult your user manual or contact distributor in your country for details regarding warranty policy and procedure.
Warranty void if not purchased from an authorized Koncept retailer or if not the original owner of the lamp.

What if my lamp is outside of warranty?

For out of warranty service, please contact Customer Service by phone or email us.
Please note that Gen 2 models are discontinued and we no longer manufacture parts for replacement or repair.

Does it matter where I purchase your products? I see Koncept products listed on online marketplace sites.

We encourage end users to purchase Koncept products from authorized Koncept dealers. Purchasing from an unauthorized dealer can result in the purchaser receiving a product whose warranty has been voided. Every authorized Koncept dealer is listed on our “Purchase” page of our website. There you will find both store locations and online dealers, and you can choose the location that best suits your needs.

TROUBLESHOOTING

My Koncept lamp is not working.

For Gen 3 & Gen 2 Z-Bar lamps: Disassemble your lamp and reassemble. Make sure all connections are flush. Make sure there are no spaces or debris in between the LED head and the black "Koncept" joint. You should hear or feel a "click" when a solid connection has been made between the LED head and the lamp body. If problem persists, please contact Koncept Customer Support.

For Equo lamps: Unplug the lamp and make sure there are no spaces between the LED head and the floating arm. Very firmly push down on the “T” intersection made by the floating arm and vertical body. Plug the lamp back into the power supply and turn on. If problem persists, please contact Koncept Customer Support.

For Tono lamp: Sometimes during shipping, plugs/wires accidently disconnect causing the Tono to not turn on. Please follow the below steps to see if it remedies the problem.

Unplug the Tono from the wall outlet and turn the Tono on its side.
On the underside of the base, you will see a black cover. Try applying pressure at the center of the black cover and then plug in the adapter.

If the lamp still does not work: The black cover is held on by 4 Philips screws where the wire attaches. Please carefully remove these screws and pop off the cover. Wait a few seconds and re-assemble the lamp. Plug in the adapter and see if the Tono now turns on. If problem persists, please contact Koncept Customer Support.

My Z-Bar lamp head keeps drooping. What can I do to tighten the joint?

Every Gen 3 Z-Bar® comes with a standard M1.5 hex key. You may tighten the joint by turning screw clockwise. See illustration below.

Some Z-bar® models use Philips head screw and require Philips head screwdriver for tightening.

I can’t find my Equo Floor cord clips.

Your cord clips can be found taped to the Styrofoam end piece inside the brown box.

I have daisy chained my UCX and I cannot control the dimming with one switch.

Please make sure your UCX’s are set to “Group” mode. To do this, press the “Mode” button on your UCX until the indicator light for Group is on. You must do this for all UCX’s that are chained together.

I cannot get my Occupancy Sensor to work.

For Z-Bar, Mosso & Equo lamps: Please unplug your Occupancy Sensor and turn your lamp to the setting you want your lamp to turn on at. Plug your Occupancy Sensor in, leave the area and the lamp should shut off in 15 minutes. Please make sure the sensor is not directed at a walkway and there are no pets in the area that could be setting the sensor off. If problem persists, please contact Koncept Customer Support.

For UCX lamps: Please unplug your Occupancy Sensor. Make sure your lamp is set to “Group” Mode. Push the “Mode” button until the “Group” indicator light is on. Plug your Occupancy Sensor in, leave the area and the lamp should shut off in 15 minutes. Please make sure the sensor is not directed at a walkway and there are no pets in the area that could be setting the sensor off. If problem persists, please contact Koncept Customer Support.

My Equo floor lamp body feels unstable when I move it, is this normal?

The Equo floor base is designed with a shock absorbing rubber material inside of it. Without it, a small push on the vertical body will cause a "pendulum effect" and it won't stop swaying back & forth. The degree that the body can be tilted stems from the flexible shock absorbent material and is normal.
